I'm sorry if this sounds cheesy.. but AyEyePad started as a wish.
I realized that Notepad was just, well.. not doing it for me. And I hadn't gotten any ideas for coding for a while, so I went with it. A few days later, on August 26, 2007. AyEyePad 1.0.0 was released.
Okay, now that we're done with that boring history of this application, lets get on to the good stuff. Here is a list of AyEyePad's features that make it so awesome, in somewhat of a chronological order according to their date added:
- Tabbed writing
- Command-line launch (for explorer integration)
- Find, Find and Replace dialogs
- Can be used from floppy, USB, or CD drive
- Large amount of keyboard shortcuts
- AyEyePad file format
- Optional encryption
- Drag-to-load feature
- Text-to-speech (Let AyEyePad read your documents to you!)
- Multilingual interface (English, German, Polish, Esperanto)
- Insert Symbol dialog
- UNIX/Mac file support
- Icons in menus
- Session saving/opening
- Change letter case easily (All upper, all lower, invert, randomize, alternating)
